Q. We're coming from America.
What is the voltage in Europe? Should we bring adaptors or something?A. Electricity in Europe is 220v (as opposed to 110 volts in the US). Most laptops are designed to work at both 220v and 110v. If you have an appliance which only works at 110v you should bring a voltage converter with you as they are difficult to find in some locations in Greece.
Q. We were planning on bringing some DVDs from America. Will they work on European DVD players.
Probably not, unfortunately. American DVD players and discs are "Region 1", while in Europe are "Region 2", making them incompatible.
Q. Will my US cell phone work in Europe?
If you have a GSM cell phone, it should work in Europe. Once arrived you can buy a SIM card (you will need your ID for this) and switch your American SIM card with it. Alternatively you can rent a GSM phone before you leave. We do, however, recommend you talk to your network provider or local cell phone retailer.

Migration in the Mediterranean
WILL IT AFFECT MY HOLIDAY?
Clients often ask us how they might help people migrating through Europe, or indeed how their holiday in our accommodations and destinations might be affected this year by the current flow of people travelling from the Middle East to Europe.
There are many charitable organisations providing assistance to those in need and all of which have been tirelessly helping individuals and families get through this unimaginably difficult chapter in their lives.
Médecins Sans Frontières/MSF https://www.msf.gr/

Greece: the main sea routes for migration are across the very short straights from the Turkish mainland to the Greek islands just off Turkey’s Western coast. The Ionian Islands (on the west side of the Greek mainland altogether) have not been affected at all by migrants. Quite simply, no migrants have arrived there, or are likely to arrive there, because they are not “en-route”.
Many of us live and work in the regions in which we operate, all of us know them well and we have thought carefully and deeply about various possible scenarios. In 2016, not one of our clients in Greece reported this issue affecting their holidays, and we do not expect 2017 to be any different.
